So, seeing how it is Thursday, I guess I'm a tad bit late posting pics from the Coyote Ugly night at Baja (this past Saturday)!  The event went REALLY well.  We even had a special surprise guest.....Emilee, from The Real World: Cancun!!!  A big thanks to her for judging the Coyote Ugly contest, and thanks to all who came out!

Updates!

Slacker?  Yep, that's me lately!  My bad!!  I've got a couple quick updates tho!!

The Balloon Drop at Baja?  That went really well; better than expected, actually!

The Halloween Bash at CYL was crazy!!  We had such a good turn out that we were slightly OVER capacity (no worries tho, a lot of ppl just gathered outside on the patio...you can still hear the music/drink/smoke out there)!!  Also outside on the patio was Truna (aka: the fire breather who popped in to do a quick fire show), and a badass ice luge which had "Happy Halloween" on the front and a spider on the top!!  Ice gave out some cash prizes for misc things ("First person to come to the DJ booth and dance "Gangnam Style" was one), and of course the BIG cash prize of $300 (which went to the Siamese twins)!!

Coming up:

I haven't made up a calendar with Ice's schedule for November because it is pretty much standard now:  Fridays at CYL, Saturdays at Baja.  Only other thing to add for November (so far): Ice will be at CYL on Wednesday, Nov. 21st for the Thanksgiving Eve Party!  

Please check Ice's Facebook page for event updates (we'll have at least one more event in Nov for CYL, and events pretty much every Sat at Baja)!  This coming Saturday at Baja: Coyote Ugly night!  Best Coyote Ugly bar dance wins a cash prize!  Drink specials all night, no cover, 18+!

Balloon Drop!

So, we have been wondering exactly WHAT to bring to Baja Beach Club.  A general weekly theme, different themes each week, what?  Well, this past Saturday, we brainstormed with K (one of the bartenders at Baja, and owner of Tasteless Candy Clothing Co.).  Starting this weekend, Saturdays will now be "Sinful Saturday"!  One theme, but different prizes/giveaways every week!!!!

This week, we'll be doing a balloon drop.....the balloons will contain a total of $300 in CASH prizes!  There will be $4 drink specials before 11pm, and "red light" drink specials throughout the night (so watch for the flashing red light and get to the bar)!!!!

Also, when you get to Baja, if you can show K that you have "Liked" the Tasteless Candy Facebook page, you'll get a raffle ticket to win a cash prize!!  So, spread the word and come out to win some cash, have some great drinks, and hear some awesome music!!!!!

Pink & Black Party

The Pink & Black Party (Friday's event for Breast Cancer Awareness) at CYL went really well!  With wristband sales and raffle ticket sales, we raised over $1300 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (American Cancer Society)!!!  Thanks to everyone who attended and to those who didn't attend, but still bought wristbands/donated!  We intend to make this a yearly event!!!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Fund-Raiser at CYL at Night! Friday, October 12th!

Hey what's up everybody!

As you might know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  In honor of this, CYL At Night has decided to hold a fund-raiser during the month of October!

Come party for a great cause!  All during the month of October, CYL will be selling special VIP "CYL Cares" wristbands. These wristbands will entitle the wearer to half-price drinks during the month of October, on Friday and Saturday nights from 9-11pm.  The wristbands cost $10 each, and all proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society!

To buy a bracelet, stop by CYL at Night, located at 520 South Street, Bow, NH.  Or call Elissa at 603-219-6277!

Not only that, but on Friday, October 12th, we will be holding a Pink & Black Party, to benefit breast cancer research.  Everyone who shows up gets one free raffle ticket for a change to win a prize.  We will also be selling additional $2 raffle tickets for a chance to win even BIGGER prizes!  All proceeds from raffle ticket sales will also be donated to the American Cancer Society!

Myspace Comeback...?

Just saw an article (on Facebook, ironically enough) about Myspace.  Now that Justin Timberlake is investing in the company, it seems like they're trying to steer it in a whole new direction. They're doing a total redesign of the site.

According to the company, "We’re hard at work building the new Myspace, entirely from scratch. But we’re staying true to our roots in one important way—empowering people to express themselves however they want. So whether you’re a musician, photographer, filmmaker, designer or just a dedicated fan, we’d love for you to be a part of our brand new community."

They've got a teaser page, "new.myspace.com", where you can enter your email to receive an invite to the new site.

Fire breather & Ice luge
for the Fire & Ice Party!!!

Friday night was the Fire & Ice Party/September Birthday Bash, and holy s**t was it FUN!  There was an ice luge for shots, a fire breather/performer, birthday cake, and a fantastic crowd!!!  The next morning, I got on Facebook and my whole newsfeed was people talking about the party!  Here's some of what people had to say:

Tattoos

Who does YOURS?

Ice and I are soooooo excited!! After years (literally) of searching for someone that we had 110% confidence in to do a REALISTIC portrait tattoo, we  sat down for a consultation w/Sean Ambrose from Arrows & Embers this morning.  We're happy to say, we *FINALLY* found an artist that we have utmost trust in!!  

Since the portrait is going to take 4 hours, Ice's appointment isn't until the end of March (2013), but it's def gonna be worth the wait!  Of course, there will be LOTS of pics when the time comes.  

We both want a few more tats (Ice more than me, as I have 8 already), and will ONLY be getting them done with Sean/Arrows & Embers.  If you're looking for more ink (or your 1st piece), please consider A&E.  You will have a great experience in the shop!

Labor Day Weekend Recap!

Good weekend!!!  Ice worked at CYL both Friday and Saturday.  The White Party (on Saturday) was really fun, and had a pretty good turn out!

(More) Updates!

Crazy-busy, but exciting week/weekend!!!  Last week Ice made a deal with Baja Beach Club in Laconia, NH to be their new Resident DJ on Saturday nights!!  After leaving The Funky Monkey last month, Ice is happy to be back up in the Lakes Region!

Friday night was the Beach Party at CYL At Night!!!

Saturday Ice spun the in-store event at Fashion Zone which was Ice's 1st corporate (non-nightclub) event, and it went very well!

Sunday was the End of Summer Party for the kids at CYL At Night, which also went well even with a pretty big "technical difficulty" (Ice's amp wouldn't power up, so he couldn't' spin.  Luckily there was a jukebox w/tons of good songs that we were able to load up)!  The kids had a blast (we've already had lots of requests for another event), and we're hoping to do more of these events for them in the future (Ice got a new amp yesterday so he's all set for next time)!

"MIA"

So, if you follow the site at all, you probably already know that Ice doesn't always keep the page(s) up to date.  He's an EXTREMELY busy guy.  I could try to list everything that he has going on any one given day, but you'd stop reading eventually because the list would be LOOOONG.  So, I'll just say a quick "Hello"!  Who am I?  Heather.  Ice's wife/business partner/manager/you name it and that's me.  I pretty much do a little bit of everything.  ;)

Quick recap of some recent events to catch you up to speed:

**Ice partnered with Fashion Zone (an urban clothing store in Concord).  You can stop in whenever they're open and grab Ice's latest mixtapes for FREE!  Ice will also be spinning at Fashion Zone on the 25th for their Grand Opening Celebration!

**In July, Ice began a Friday night residency at CYL At Night in Bow, NH (at the Concord/Bow junction)!!  He'll be there EVERY Friday nite, and occasionally some Saturday's!  Check his Facebook regularly for his schedule!

**Ice has spun a few spot dates at The Honey Pot Bar & Lounge in Seabrook, NH and will be doing a few more in the future!

**As always for the past 2+ years, Ice has steadily been spinning at The Funky Monkey (check out his Facebook page for pics of the Body Painting Party that was on Aug 4th)!!

**August 11th, Ice ended his residency at The Funky Monkey.  Here's what he said on his Facebook page:

"Hello everyone! As many of you know, for the last 2 years, I have been a proud resident DJ at The Funky Monkey nightclub in Laconia, NH. It has been a long and exciting journey. Along the way, I have made many new friends, business acquaintances, and even some fans!

Unfortunately, due to schedule and professional conflicts, it has been decided that this past Saturday August 11th was to be my final night as a resident DJ at the club.

I bear the owners and management no ill will, and wish the club (and it's owners and management) nothing but the best in all their future endeavors. I would like to thank the owners, management, staff, and ESPECIALLY THE FANS for two AWESOME years! 

That being said, I will say this - if you loved coming to check me out on my nights at The Monkey, the party's NOT over! I would like to invite you ALL to come check me out this Friday night (and EVERY Friday night) at Concord NH's own CYL At Night (Chen Yang Li)! We're definitely bringing you AWESOME music, GREAT drinks, and EXCITING events! I promise, it'll be worth your trip!

I also have a LOT of other things in the works for the near future that I think you're gonna love! So stay tuned, and I'll keep you updated!

Cinco de Mayo in Laconia, New Wisen Y Yandel Vid!

The Cinco de Mayo Party at The Funky Monkey nightclub in Laconia, NH was crazy!  A lot of people came through, and everyone had a great time! I've got some pics posted on my Facebook page, so check em out!

A lot of people asked about the new Wisen Y Yandel track I played last night.  It's called "Follow The Leader", and it's featuring J-Lo.  Here's the vid:
